Mark your calendars for Wednesday, February 12th, 2025!
The Lanark Federation of Agriculture is thrilled to present a local Provincial Candidates Event for candidates in the riding of Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston.
The event will be presented in partnership with Cogeco and will take place at the Cogeco studios in Smiths Falls. The Candidates session will be live-streamed and simultaneously broadcast on the local Cogeco network beginning at 7:00 pm on Wednesday February 12th, 2025. Viewers can connect to the programming at yourtv.tv/smithsfalls.
The Lanark Federation of Agriculture is one of 51 county and regional federations supported by OFA across the province. Lanark Federation of Agriculture represents the voice of agriculture in the local community and advocates on behalf of farm families in Lanark on local agricultural issues.
“There are a great number of issues that face farmers across our County,” notes Lanark Federation of Agriculture President Derek Oliver. “Supply chain resiliency, infrastructure spending, farmland preservation, and mental health funding are just a few of those issues that our members will be paying close attention to when making a decision in the upcoming election. We look forward to raising these concerns with our candidates next month.”
The Candidates Event will be moderated by Andrea McCoy-Naperstkow. Candidates will be presented with the opportunity to answer questions on the issues that are important to the people of Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston. All questions are to be submitted in advance of the debate by email.
